# Villa Niemelä – Fishing Villa with Outdoor Jacuzzi on Lake Simpelejärvi
Villa Niemelä is a traditional and practical 115 m² lakeside base designed for fishing groups. It accommodates up to nine guests in three bedrooms and offers a living room with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, freezers for the catch, two saunas, an outdoor jacuzzi, outdoor kitchen, gas grill, smoker and large fish-filleting table. Pets are welcome.
The private sandy beach and private pier are only about 30 metres from the terrace, so your fishing day begins directly at the villa.
## Zander, pike and perch
Lake Simpelejärvi covers approximately 90 km² and is known for zander, pike and perch. Underwater humps and areas 6–12 metres deep are productive for vertical fishing and jigging, while islands, bays and reed beds offer excellent pike fishing. Zander commonly weigh 1.5–3 kg, with larger fish also caught, and pike over one metre are possible. The main zander season is generally from 15 May to 30 September.
## 14 fully equipped fishing boats
Your selected boat is delivered ready to use at Villa Niemelä's private pier with a full tank, charged batteries and a charger.
Ten Standard boats cost €490 per week plus fuel. They include 20 hp four-stroke engines, Lowrance Elite FS 9 units and Minn Kota PowerDrive GPS bow motors with Spot-Lock and are ideal for two or three anglers.
Four larger and more stable Premium boats cost €840 per week plus fuel and offer more room, storage and casting space for three anglers.

It is 320 km from Helsinki Airport The address is Haapalahdentie327 Parikkala then follow the sign Niemelä for approx. 500 m. Direct car ferry from Travemünde to Helsinki (Finnlines), from there 320 km to Parikkala. By car through the Baltics to Tallinn, from there car ferry to Helsinki (2 h) and 320 km to Parikkala. Ferry from Travemünde to Sweden, drive to Stockholm, overnight ferry to Helsinki, and 320 km drive to Parikkala. By flight and car (Frankfurt – Savonlinna / Helsinki) Direct flight from Frankfurt to Savonlinna (New for 2027): Discover Airlines (Lufthansa Group) operates direct flights from Frankfurt (FRA) to Savonlinna (SVL) during the summer season from June 19 to August 29, 2027 (once a week on the Saturday–Sunday night). From Savonlinna Airport, it is only about a 1-hour drive to the cottages. Helsinki-Vantaa (HEL): Daily direct flights from Germany to Helsinki. Rental car from the airport (driving time to the destination approx. 3.5–4 hours).

The water
🌊 Haapalahti and Simpelejärvi are beautiful and peaceful lakes that offer a wonderful setting for fishing and enjoying nature. Both lakes are known for their clean waters. The color of the water in Haapalahti is brownish and its diverse fish stocks, and they are excellent for both boat and shore fishing. The ridges, bays and peaceful shore areas make the lakes pleasant and easily accessible destinations in the middle of nature.

Lake Simpelejärvi is a clean and varied fishing lake of approximately 90 km², known for zander, pike and perch. Zander favour underwater humps, drop-offs and deeper open water. Pike are found around islands, bays, shallow water and reed beds, while perch favour reefs, rocky areas and underwater slopes. The protected Haapalahti bay and the wider main lake offer two different fishing areas directly from Villa Niemelä's private pier.
