Learn more about this activity

The Northern Lights are definitely not only a thing in winter but they start appearing as soon as the nights are dark enough, meaning late August. The perfect time to hike up to the best views towards North and let the show begin! Or, in case it’s cloudy or no auroras, we let our senses sharpen in the dark surroundings. Nevertheless, a shaking experience!

Earlier in the summer, from early June to late July we can take advantage of the highly underrated phenomenon of Nightless Night, meaning the sun doesn’t set. In June we can head up to the fells to see the sun shining from the North at midnight. Still in late July the nights are bright, even if the sun weren’t up anymore. Quite an experience to hike in midnight, as bright as noon, but somehow still very different!
