In Karkausmäki’s luxury tent you can get close to nature and admire the evening sunset and the greenery of nature in a lake scenery.

The tent is located in the Karkausmäki yard on a small slope facing the lake.

The tent is equipped with a double bed with linen sheets.
The tent overlooks Lake Karkausjärvi.

The height of the tent is 3 metres and the diameter is 5 metres.
The tent is furnished with a double bed (160cm), bedside tables, chairs, table, coat rack, mood lighting (battery operated) and a small table and chairs on the tent terrace.
The tent is made of waterproof canvas fabric, has a separate mosquito net door and a waterproof base.
The tent has no electricity or heating, so be prepared for the Finnish summer with warm clothes.
However, the tent also comes with woollen blankets and thick duvets to keep you warm.
For charging your mobile phone, there is a power supply in the tent.

Deluxe package includes breakfast basket delivered, beverages and sauna.

A shelter and a campfire site near the tent are available for your use if you wish.
If you wish, you can also book the wood-fired sauna in the yard for 30€/h.
It is advisable to book a sauna before you arrive.

The kitchen, toilet and shower in the main building are available, as well as a dry toilet beside the sauna.
Please note that there may be other guests in the main house.

On arrival, snacks such as fruit and nuts and non-alcoholic soft drinks will be waiting for you in the tent.

A breakfast basket will be delivered to the tent in the morning at a pre-arranged time.
You can already put your request for a delivery time in the additional information section of the booking form.
The breakfast basket is assembled from domestic ingredients produced nearby.

The delivery time is preferably between 8.30-10.30 am, but we are flexible about the time. Please remember to declare any food allergies.

Additional services

For an additional charge, you can book an evening meal, which will be delivered to the fridge in the main building's kitchen.
- The evening meal includes a chicken/fish filled roll, savoury pie and a fresh salad.
The price of the evening meal is 18€/person.
The evening meal must be booked at least 2 days before arrival.

Things to do during your stay
Fatbike bikes for hire from partners from 30e/3h and SUP boards 25e/day.
Ask for rental equipment well in advance so you don't miss out!

The neighbouring Karkausjärvi is a relaxing spot for SUP-boarding.
There are also other nearby lakes within 3-5 km of the accommodation.
Lake Valkeisjärvi is particularly beautiful with its clear water and a 5.6 km ring trail around it.
The lake is spring-based and the other half is almost entirely sandy.

The 5.6 km ring trail runs around Lake Valkeisjärvi, which is part of the Deer Trail hiking trail.
The distance from Karkausmäki to Valkeisjärvi is 5 km.
The trails of the Salamajärvi National Park are about 20 km away.

The Metsähallitus' Kalajoki and Central Ostrobothnia angling permit entitles you to fish with a fly or lure in state-owned waters located within the Kalajoki and Central Ostrobothnia fisheries regions.The angling permit area covers approximately 3,000 hectares of lake and pond waters, as well as tens of kilometers of river and stream waters. The Kalajoki River is not included in the permit area.
