River Oulujoki and Lake Oulujärvi are ideal for both guided fishing excursions and independent fishing, whether from the shore or a rowing boat. If you wish, you can rent an outboard motor for the rowing boat. In local tradition, trolling is especially popular, and on a good day, it’s not uncommon to encounter pike measuring over one meter in length. Spinning (cast fishing) is also a great option for exploring the lake’s diverse waters. If needed, you can inquire about equipment rental - so there’s no need to bring your own gear unless you prefer to.
